The first rankings for 2019 are in and there has been some movement within the Top 20. The opening set of rankings for the year don’t see any new faces, but they have seen teams swap positions- notably in the Top 10.
Navy and Penn State have swapped positions. Navy has dropped down to 8th in the country, while Penn State has been able to climb back up to 7th and are now just two spots behind where they started their season off. Navy lies dormant for much of the Spring, until they come out from hibernation in March to play three consecutive games against teams currently ranked in the Top 10. Those three games will have an enormous impact on the Midshipmen’s seeding come playoffs.
The other change to come in the rankings saw Grand Canyon fall down to 19th in the country; while Ohio State came in at 18th. Grand Canyon will kick off their Spring season on January 19 when they host Saint Mary’s in their first game in the California Conference.
