Week 8 saw its fair share of massive wins, ranging from upsets to unexpected blowouts. All of these have fed into the rankings, as we approach Week 9. While there has been plenty of movement, there have been no new teams added to the fold.

The biggest jump of the week belongs to Iona who have climbed two spots into the 13th. The voters rewarded Iona for their ability to push several of the Top 10 teams to the brink. While, they have not converted those opportunities into wins, it has been proven that they can match it with the best in the country.

Another New York State team was able to match Iona’s rate of ascendency, as St. Bonaventure moved two places up the rankings from the 20th slot into 18th. They’ll have plenty of opportunities to prove why the voters should have confidence in them, when they take on three ranked opponents to close out the year. Following a bye this week, Bonnies will face #15 Notre Dame College, #10 Kutztown and #13 Iona. It will be a tough stretch, but a good showing in November could see the Bonnies place themselves nicely for playoff contention come May.

Other moves saw Grand Canyon drop a spot. Notre Dame College also dropped a spot, down to 15th, after suffering a heavy defeat to Army. Davenport has taken over the 16th spot, while its former occupant, Wisconsin falls to 17.
