Canterbury D1A Rugby Top 20: Week 15

D1A Rugby: Canterbury D1A Rugby Top 20: Week 15

BOULDER, Colo. – The University of Utah made this week’s biggest splash in the Canterbury D1A Rugby Top 20. The Utes are up three spots and in the top 10 at No. 8 after their 38-0 shutout of UCLA.

Joining Utah in the top 10 is Cal Poly after the Mustangs handed San Diego State a 33-14 defeat. The addition of Utah and Cal Poly in the top 10 caused a fallout for Indiana, which only drops one spot to No. 11, and Arizona. The Wildcats’ tumble is a bit steeper than that of Indiana. After losing at home to Colorado State, Arizona now finds itself at No. 14.

For the time being, Colorado State appears to be in good position to secure a 2015 D1A Rugby Playoff spot. The Rams jumped ahead two spots to No. 12 this week due to its 29-21 win over Arizona.

The first shakeup within the top five in 2015 appeared in the Week 15 rankings, as Lindenwood moved ahead of Kutztown after last weekend saw the Lions pick up wins against New Orleans RFC and Louisiana.
