Canterbury D1A Top 20: Week 10

D1A Rugby: Canterbury D1A Top 20: Week 10

BOULDER, Colo. – Army’s recent victory over Wheeling Jesuit completed an undefeated mark in Rugby East for the Brothers. With three top-10 wins already to their credit, the Brothers remain stuck behind Saint Mary’s and Life in the D1A rankings. Army will get a chance to move into the top two now that a Nov. 22 match against Life is in the works.

Staying in the East, Penn State slides to No. 8. The Nittany Lions haven’t been able to pull off a marquee victory since their Sept. 9 win over Davenport. Most recently, Penn State fell to Lindenwood, who is back in the top five after its impressive nonconference win.

Oklahoma, the only team in the Red River to complete its conference schedule in the fall, has already earned enough points during its 5-0 run to clinch the conference’s first Championship. The Sooners’ most recent win – a 62-13 hammering of TCU – pushes Oklahoma to No. 11.

Ohio State and Wisconsin both won over the weekend, setting up a Big Ten Universities Championship game between the two, while moving both squads up the rankings. Michigan’s body of work, which includes a win over No. 13 Wheeling Jesuit, keeps the Wolverines ahead of the Badgers and Buckeyes, but whoever wins the BTU Final is sure to inch towards the D1A top 10.
