Canterbury D1A Top 20: Week 11

D1A Rugby: Canterbury D1A Top 20: Week 11

BOULDER, Colo. – The top half of the Canterbury D1A Top 20 remains intact, but the rest of the rankings saw plenty of movement.

Wisconsin’s Big Ten Universities Championship win over Ohio State bumped the Badgers up three spots to No. 13. Even in defeat, Ohio State jumped to No. 16 in this week’s rankings.

Two teams enter the Canterbury Top 20 for the first time this fall in Iowa and Texas A&M. The Hawkeyes beat Michigan over the weekend to finish third in BTU’s final standings and now check in at No. 20. A second consecutive loss by the Wolverines drops Michigan to No. 18.

The Aggies handled Texas, 26-17, and are beginning to look like the strongest side in the Red River Conference south of the Oklahoma Sooners.

A top-five battle is lingering between No. 2 Life and No. 3 Army. The Nov. 22 contest is an opportunity for Army to add to its already impressive list of victories, which includes Air Force, Kutztown, and Penn State. Meanwhile, this will be the first test for Life’s first XV, but many of the more experienced players have already received solid minutes playing alongside the Running Eagles Elite Training Group.
