Canterbury D1A Top 20: Week 19

D1A Rugby: Canterbury D1A Top 20: Week 19

BOULDER, Colo. – Results from March 7 did a lot to stir the Canterbury D1A Top 20 pot, which is a trend expected to continue.

Army, ranked third since beating Kutztown back in October, finally fell in the rankings. After posting a less than convincing 28-16 win over UMASS, and Davenport and Lindenwood pushing Life to the brink of an upset (Army lost to Life by 34 points in November), the Black Knights drop below the aforementioned Mid-South sides to No. 5.

There looks to be a changing of the guard in the West after Colorado State picked apart Air Force 34-5. The Rams enter the top ten for the first time this season at No. 9, while Air Force plummets four spots to No. 11.

The match between Independents that saw Utah have its way with Arizona also had implications on this week’s rankings. The win pushed the Utes up two spots to No. 8, while the Wildcats went the other direction and are now ranked No. 17.
