Canterbury D1A Top 20: Week 20

D1A Rugby: Canterbury D1A Top 20: Week 20

BOULDER, Colo. – There has been a changing of the guard atop the Canterbury D1A Top 20. For the first time all season, Saint Mary’s falls from the No. 1 spot in the poll after losing to both Utah and BYU over the weekend. Taking the Gaels’ place is Life University. The Running Eagles are undefeated on the season, and coming off of their best win of the year – a 32-0 blowout of Arkansas State.

The Mid-South continues to dominate the front end of the rankings. All three teams in the conference are in the top four, and this week Lindenwood swaps places with Davenport after the Lions beat the Panthers.

Utah’s win over Saint Mary’s, albeit against a combined side of starters and reserves, was very impressive and continues the Independent team’s climb in the Canterbury Top 20. This week the Utes check in at No. 6.

San Diego State, a team that was close to falling out of the rankings a few weeks ago, have been on a winning streak as of late. The Aztecs’ latest performance, a last-second victory over UCLA, pushes the team to No. 13 this week.
