Canterbury D1A Top 20: Week 22

D1A Rugby: Canterbury D1A Top 20: Week 22

BOULDER, Colo. – Several games that had the look of a rankings-changing matchup turned out to have little effect on this week’s Canterbury D1A Top 20.

Life won its fourth and final Mid-South match by a larger margin than its previous three games, albeit only seven points. Davenport’s ability to hang tough with the Running Eagles keeps the Panthers at one spot ahead of Army, who was victorious over Navy on the weekend.

Carrying a second-half lead and eventually losing to Cal by seven in Berkeley was enough to keep Saint Mary’s solidly as the second-ranked team in the Canterbury rankings.

In fact, the only movement of the week was a drop in the rankings by Ohio State. The Buckeyes couldn’t keep up with No. 12 Wheeling Jesuit and fell to the Rugby East side, 48-10. The loss sinks Ohio State two spots to No. 18, while Arizona and Texas A&M are the beneficiaries of a one-spot bump.
