GREENSBORO, N.C. – The two contenders for the D1A National Championship, Life and St. Mary’s, hit the ground yesterday and they wasted no time making an impact in the local community.
Life visited a local elementary school and ran a session teaching the students about rugby and introducing them to Rookie Rugby, the award-winning non-contact version of the game developed by USA Rugby.
The Life Running Eagles took a special pride in growing the game in the south, an area of the country that is loaded with talent, as evidenced by Life’s roster. Eight Running Eagles hail from North Carolina and relished the opportunity to help grow the game in their home state.
St. Mary’s will visit a school Friday afternoon with the same goal.
