BOULDER, Colo. – Arizona won its third straight match when it beat Notre Dame, 47-10, March 12 for the Parseghian Cup. The Wildcats continue to receive solid contributions from players both old and young, but winger Dante Weeks and his three tries earned the flyer D1A Player of the Week honors.
“Dante has really been fantastic this year, taking the next step in his growth,” described Arizona Head Coach Sean Duffy.
It’s not only Weeks’ head coach that is taking notice. Last year, the Sociology major was an Honorable Mention All-American on the sevens side, and participated in December’s Men’s Junior All-American camp.
Now a sophomore, Weeks is maturing not only as a player, but a young leader for the 12th-ranked Wildcats.
“Off the field, he’s grown a lot more comfortable you can tell, becoming one of the leaders of that class, and helping take the freshmen outside backs under his wing and helping them navigate their first year,” said Duffy.
Following 10 consecutive weeks with a match, Arizona is off until Weeks and his teammates visit Oregon State April 2.
