BOULDER, Colo. – Santa Clara’s narrow win over Wyoming last weekend almost went the way of the visiting Cowboys. However, with less than two minutes remaining in the match, D1A Player of the Week Jack O’Hara put his side back on top with a try and sealed the win for the Broncos.
Typically a wing, O’Hara showed a bit of versatility against Wyoming by operating the back of the scrum at the No. 8 position.
“He is a strong ball-runner, and exceptionally evasive for a tall man,” said Santa Clara Head Coach Paul Keeler. “He offloads well and is good in the air. For Santa Clara to be successful, we need Jack to touch the ball often and play well.”
Jack isn’t the only O’Hara to play rugby at Santa Clara. The junior is a legacy on campus as his mom, dad and older brother have all taken the pitch for the Broncos.
