D1A Rugby Top 20 – Week 9

D1A Rugby: D1A Rugby Top 20 – Week 9

LAFAYETTE, Colo. – A week after Arkansas State took Indiana’s place in the top five, the Red Wolves fall out of the top five and the Hoosiers regain their place at No. 5. The mix up outside of the top four comes after Davenport pulled off a big nonconference win over Arkansas State. The Panthers’ win, their biggest of the fall season, brings the Mid-South side up to No. 6, while the Red Wolves fall to No. 9.

Indiana, meanwhile, beat Wisconsin to move back to No. 5 in the D1A Top 20. The Hoosiers are having such a good season that the Badgers actually moved up one spot even after falling, 39-17, to the reigning Big Ten Universities Champions.

Colorado State continued its winning ways by beating Wyoming, 42-16, and the Rams were rewarded with their highest ranking of the season – No. 10.

Utah takes over Kutztown’s place at No. 13. The Utes struggled early in the season with losses to Air Force and Colorado State, but won again over the weekend. This time the Utes took down Utah State, 47-14. Conversely, Kutztown dropped its second Rugby East game of the season after losing only one conference match in 2015.

After re-entering the rankings last week, Ohio State jumped one spot to No. 18 this week. The Buckeyes had no problem taking care of Big Ten Rival Michigan, 65-17.
