D1A Rugby Top 20 – Week 5

D1A Rugby: D1A Rugby Top 20 – Week 5

LAFAYETTE, Colo. – The fifth week of results in D1A Rugby produced minimal movement in the latest Top 20.

Indiana was one of three teams that moved up in the Week 5 rankings. The Hoosiers topped Purdue to improve to 3-0 in the Big Ten and have beaten its opponents by an average of 77 points per contest midway through their conference season. This week’s outing should be the reining Big Ten’s toughest up to this point of the season when Indiana hosts Michigan (2-0) without start center star center Bryce Campbell who will be with the USA Rugby Selects.

True to form, Davenport isn’t waiting for the Mid-South season to start to start its 15s season. The Panthers have already tested themselves in a number of nonconference matches, and most recently defeated Lindenwood-Belleville, 36-15. The strong performance by Davenport has the squad up one spot to No. 11 this week.

Sitting just outside this week’s Top 20 are Wheeling Jesuit, LSU, Colorado and Oklahoma.
