BOULDER, Colo. – Then there were eight. Today is the National Quarterfinals; meaning four terrific college rugby matches are on tap.

Life vs. Penn State – Marietta, Ga. 1 p.m. ET
The Nittany Lions enter dangerous territory in Georgia, as they are faced with the task of playing No. 1-ranked Life. Penn State, at the very least, should be taking the field with some confidence after its resounding, 33-8, win in the opening round versus Wisconsin. Meanwhile, Life earned a Round 1 bye after winning the Mid-South Conference, and hasn’t taken to the pitch since its March 28 win over Davenport.

Army vs. Davenport – West Point, NY 1 p.m. ET

Air Force vs. Lindenwood – US Air Force Academy 1 p.m. MT
Lindenwood is set to face its second West Conference foe in as many weeks. In last week’s opening Playoff round the Lions proved king in their 69-12 pounding of Colorado State. Fortunately for the West Champion, Air Force’s camp seems to only be concerned with its own patterns and won’t allow Lindenwood’s dominant attack to intimidate them.

Saint Mary’s vs. Utah – Moraga, Calif. 1 p.m. PT
In a match between two teams that have grown to know one another, Saint Mary’s hopes to have the type of success it had when they hosted Utah in January – a 81-15 disposing of the Utes. However, today’s Quarterfinal between the lone California Conference team in the postseason versus the lone Independent squad isn’t a done deal. In March, Utah was able to return to favor and defeat the Gaels, 49-21.
