After Arkansas State’s massive performance over the weekend taking down, at the time #4, Lindenwood, there was bound to be plenty changes in the Top 10. It wasn’t, only the Top 10 that saw change; there was also plenty of movement between 18 and 20.
The Top Four saw Army rejoin their ranks, after a brief hiatus. Army had been flirting with cracking the Top 4, swapping with Saint Mary’s on a consistent basis. However, with Lindenwood’s loss and Saint Mary’s dominant start to the Spring, Army looks to be fairly cemented in the Top 4.
Arkansas State leaps up to 5th in the rankings causing a battery of teams to drop in the standings. BYU remains in 6th, Lindenwood assumes the position of 7th, while Penn State holds 8th and Navy drops down to 9th- sending Arizona to 10th.
Teams ranked 11-17 remain unchanged; but there has been some movement in the final three spots. Utah Valley after a strong showing against Utah State are now sitting in 18th, as a result pushing Ohio State to 19th. In the 20th slot, UCLA joins the rankings. The Bruins have come out strong to start their year and look to push further into the rankings, as the season progresses. They have knocked Grand Canyon out of the rankings. Good news for Lopes fans is that the season is far from over and they have a host of quality matchups still to play. If they can land some wins to close out the season, they very well could be back in the thick of the playoff hunt.
