Week 5 Rankings

D1A Rugby: Week 5 Rankings
It was a round of big results for underdogs this weekend. Lower ranked teams pushed their opponents to the edge and in some instances were able to pull off the upsets. The biggest upset of the weekend came from University of Notre Dame as the took down #18 Ohio State. After the win the Fighting Irish  received votes, but still find themselves on the outside looking in. While the Buckeyes, have now fallen out of the Top 20.

#19 Iona pushed #6 Army all the way in a tight affair with the Black Knights holding on for a hard fought victory. While the Gaels did not get the win, this was the second weekend in a row they pushed an opponent ranked in the Top 10 for the full 80. They have been rewarded accordingly and now sit in 17th.

Arizona and Arkansas State swapped places, in the highest change so far this season. Arizona is now ranked 10th in the country and Arkansas State takes over 9th. This change likely due to the perceived strength of  schedule in Arkansas State’s conference, the Mid-South.

Utah and UC Davis both make their way back into the Top 20 after being relegated in previous weeks.

With five ranked teams in action this weekend, there are bound to be further shifts in the rankings coming.
