This weekend’s fixtures are filled to the rim with exciting and impactful games. There are three games this weekend between two Top 20 teams, and at least one of them will have a direct impact on the standings, regardless of results.

The biggest game of the weekend will be when #5 Lindenwood makes the journey down to #9 Arkansas State. Lindenwood cruised to victory last weekend against Clemson winning 62-10, while Arkansas State was beaten soundly by #2 Life last weekend by a similar margin. After slipping two spots in the rankings Arkansas State is hungry for a win to help push them back up in the rankings. Clemson and Life will carry out the rest of the Mid-South Conference play. Life will be looking to maintain pressure on Saint Mary’s in the #1 spot.

On Thursday night #3 BYU will travel east to take on Colorado. This will be BYU’s first game since they were able to dispose of #18 Grand Canyon University a fortnight ago. BYU was able to show off their loose ball skills, and their intimidating pace in that match to run in several tries from lengthy distances. Whilst, you can never plan for line break prepare for BYU to exploit their expansive style of play and their speed to their advantage.

Saturday, has two particularly interesting games taking place in California. One between two PAC teams, #11 Arizona and #12 Utah, and one between to California Conference teams, #14 San Diego State and #20 UC Davis. Utah will be coming out with a point to prove, as Arizona leap frogged them in the latest standings, despite Utah not losing a game last week. Arizona will be looking to continue their hot start to the season, and make the case that they should be ranked higher than they currently are.

Another PAC team, #4 Cal, will take the pitch on Saturday to square off against Utah Valley. This will be a big game for Utah Valley, who will be looking to prove that they deserve a spot at the Top 20 table, and what better way to prove it than with a win over the 4th best team in the country.

For UC Davis, they will be wanting to see their conference winning streak extended to three games, while San Diego state will want to stem the losing streak that they currently seem themselves on. UC Davis, in their first season at the D1A level, has started with a bang going 2-0 in conference play. San Diego, a team that was ranked 10th going into the season, is facing the reversed fortunes of their opponents, having lost their last three games. While, the losses sound bad two of them have come against the #1 and #4 team in the country, so their strength of schedule has been their hindrance. UC Davis will be a great chance for them to show what they can do against a quality outfit, and prove they are worthy of their lofty ranking. Elsewhere in the California Conference Santa Clara will take on Cal Poly.

The Red River Conference continues to roll along with two games this weekend. Oklahoma will take on Arkansas, and Texas Tech will be looking to rebound against TCU. Oklahoma comes into this weekend after recording their first conference win of the season last weekend. Arkansas will want to rebound this weekend after falling to Baylor last week. Texas Tech and TCU will look to get their seasons back on track, as neither of their seasons have gone to plan. TCU and Texas Tech are both hoping that this weekend will land them their second win of the season.
