We enter into our sixth week of D1A play and anticipate some rumblings within the Big Ten conference. After this weekend, we are sure to have a crystal clear picture of who sets the standard in this heavy-hitting conference.
Indiana University comes into the weekend off of a huge victory over Michigan State (40-0). After such a physical game, IU holds a strong overall ranking and an undefeated record of 4-0. University of Iowa, on the other hand, still seeks to secure their footing within the Big Ten conference. Iowa got off to a rocky start this season and will need to steady themselves if they hope to contend in the Big Ten Championships. As far as this match up is concerned, it looks like Indiana will add another tally to their winning record.
Other Big Ten match ups include Wisconsin Badgers at University of Illonis (Champaign, IL), Purdue University will travel to Minneapolis to take on University of Minnesota, and Ohio State will head North to Ann Arbor to challenge rival University of Michigan.
In the East Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals (#18) will host Penn State University Nittany Lions (#5) who just came off a tough loss against Kutztown University (#4). With a lot to prove, the Nittany Lions are sure to overcome Cardinal home field advantage and bring on the heat. This will be the first conference match for Wheeling Jesuit, and despite what official rankings may suggest this game is certainly the one to watch.
