The Lindenwood rugby team and the entire University was dealt a mighty blow last week upon hearing the tragic news of the passing of Lindenwood rugby player Charles Labry. With a Mid-South clash between Davenport and Lindenwood waiting in the wings, the two schools honored a terrific young man by declaring the match, and each one to follow between the two teams, the Charles Labry Memorial Match.
The winner of the Oct. 25 match between Ohio State and Wisconsin will find themselves in good position to claim one of two spots in the Big Ten Universities Championship match. At the moment, Wisconsin and Ohio State share 3-1 conference records, but the Badgers have a slight lead in the BTU standings with five bonus points compared to the Buckeyes’ four.

The Nittany Lions Men’s Rugby team was alleviated of its semester-long suspension a few months ago, but the team’s 30-6 win over No. 6 Davenport was Penn State’s statement to the rugby community that the Nittany Lions are indeed back.
Kutztown University’s hunt for a second consecutive Rugby East title begins Saturday when the Golden Bears host Buffalo. The matchup pitting the reigning Rugby East Champion against one of three new teams to the Conference opens league play in D1A.
